The writing style is hilarious and accessible - if you ever watched Buffy, this voice will be right up your alley. It's a book where queerness and gender identity are both at the heart of the story, and also simply pieces of the whole, and a very not-traumatic pieces at that. I loved all the anime references, the teens with realistic and specific interests and passions, the gender discoveries that also somehow fade to the background because, you know, there's a murder to solve.
